Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered

Austin Gilmore, Staff Writer

It has been ten years since we were introduced to a brand new Call of Duty. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was the game that we had been asking for and Infinity Ward brought it to us. Today, it is known as the best Call of Duty game ever made.

Well, it’s back, and it’s getting an upgrade. On November 4, 2016 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will be released along with the Legacy Edition of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Modern Warfare Remastered is taking a long time to get drop, and we all want to play it as soon as possible. Modern Warfare now has new graphics, better lighting, and updated textures.

I’m expecting Remastered to be awesome, just as fun as the original was, and always will be.”

According to an article on Forbes, “We all remember playing the fan-favorite missions ‘Crew Expendable,’ and ‘All Ghillied Up.’ They are back and waiting for us, but we will not forget about the multiplayer. Everything is the same as the original: guns, killstreaks, maps and game modes are still the same in Remastered as in the original game. We have lots of fan-favorite maps returning such as Crossfire, Crash, Bog, Backlot, and Overgrown. Coming in December, a surprise Christmas Crash will be released for console players when the game launches.”

How about some of the characters? We will once again be playing as main characters returning from the original “Captain Price” and “Soap Mactavish,” and we even get to once again play as the gunner in the AC-130 and protect the SAS team. We will get to relive in an updated fan-favorite video game that was “Game of the Year” in 2007.

The graphics have been vastly updated from the original game. On Modern Warfare, all the clothing was static, not moving at all when that was what they were supposed to do. In Remastered, the clothing on the characters moves and looks real. Even the tarps on the crates in “Crew Expendable” are flapping around like they should have been nearly ten years ago.

When Call of Duty: Modern Warfare first released, everyone was excited because we were getting a break from World War II Call of Duty games. Modern Warfare is what the fans asked for ten years ago. Today, we are asking for a Remastered version of it.

Brendan Davis, a junior here at GCHS, offered his thoughts on what he is expecting out of the Remastered version compared to the original, “I’m expecting Remastered to be awesome, just as fun as the original was, and always will be. I am hoping for it to give the original a makeover to be fresher, cleaner, and to be a great comeback in video game history.”

Activision Studios listened to their fans, and in a month and a half, we will be playing Modern Warfare Remastered for the first time and will once again be playing one of the best Call of Duty games ever made. Soon we may be asking for Modern Warfare 2 to be remastered or even Call of Duty: Black Ops to be remastered. It may be a prank or a myth. But if it is not a prank, and if these myths are true, then we have to wait and see what Activision has planned for future games in Call Of Duty.
